{"id":979,"date":"2022-03-01T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-01T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sa-israel.org\/en\/?p=979"},"modified":"2023-01-15T19:26:46","modified_gmt":"2023-01-15T19:26:46","slug":"fly-dubai-a-poem-of-acceptance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sa-israel.org\/en\/fly-dubai-a-poem-of-acceptance\/","title":{"rendered":"Fly Dubai:  A poem of acceptance"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hey, I have a great idea, let&#8217;s fly to Dubai<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Book the ticket &#8211; nice a good price.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Plan and plan and plan!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Get permission for vacation days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On top of that let&#8217;s fly from Dubai to the USA!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After all, this life is full of adventure.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s the morning of the flight, I wake up to see: CANCELED.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Breathe.<br>Breathe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What about the plans?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The money&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vermont&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ticket to the USA&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This cannot be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is not Fly Dubai. This is not what I planned. This is not the glamorous trip I expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But then something kicks in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A familiar voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A friend I&#8217;ve come to know well.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The voice says: <em>&#8220;It will be OK&#8221;<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;You are bigger than Dubai, America and plans.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>In the end of the day it will be OK<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>God loves you in Israel too.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a matter of moments I am back to myself.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fly Dubai isn&#8217;t everything.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What about fly Vienna, or fly Cyprus or fly Mykonos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I look it up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Too expensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bad weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Flight&#8217;s too long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Again the voice comes: <em>&#8220;You will be OK&#8221;.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I counter back:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I need this vacation, I have worked so hard, I deserve this!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The voice lovingly chides: <em>&#8220;You will be OK&#8221;.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I decide I&#8217;ll just cancel all the tickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fly to the USA from Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I will not fly Dubai.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I look up a small vacation in Israel<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will be alone.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My Dubai buddy will just go to work instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But it will be OK, I say.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then suddenly &#8211; ingenuity!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let&#8217;s fly during the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let&#8217;s switch to the earlier flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We can still Fly Dubai!!!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My friend gets permission from her boss to leave work and be on a flight in a few hours.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will have to run to the airport but we can do it!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I change her flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then I try to change mine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It doesn&#8217;t work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We call the airline but she got the last ticket <em>and <\/em>her ticket is nonrefundable <em>and<\/em> she needs the money <em>and<\/em> she won&#8217;t go alone.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Business Class is available for $2,000. Ha!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will be OK.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will be OK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I believe it<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I know it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God gives me wisdom &#8211; even though tickets to Dubai have skyrocketed because of cancellations, I remember the one cheaper ticket I had seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So now it&#8217;s fly Bahrain and <em>then<\/em> to Dubai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A bit of money on a longer connection flight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now I&#8217;m on a train in Israel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I don&#8217;t know what will be.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But it will be OK.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It always is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It always is what God meant for it to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because after all it was never that important to Fly Dubai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\">?
